Religion too can bring on a feeling of belonging to the “great scheme of things.” Think of today’s news story in Israel about finding a tiny seal of one Israel’s greatest kings, Khizkiyahu, in English, Hezekiah, who became king of Judea in the year 562 BCE. He seems to have been the last king to fight and finally rid the Land of the Philistines. Eilat Mazar, the preeminent archaeologist of Jerusalem in her generation — following in her father’s footsteps – said this was likely his very own. So the one she held between her fingers was likely once held by him, 2,577 years ago…

…The good news was that Chairman of the Knesset Constitution, law and justice Nissim Slomianski, was drafting legislation to exile the family of wild Arabs like these. The bad news is that it will call for exile for half the time the captured terrorist will be sentenced to prison. I guess this means a terrorist may get 10 years in the slammer and the family sent to Gaza for five. Thus it is good news and bad news for it bears the hallmark of an attempt to reform the terrorist. Israel must rethink what prison is for, for such types. It cannot be like prisons elsewhere where the inmates as a rule are fully aware they broke a law they should not have. The bank robber knows and knew before his attempt that it was against the law and no bank robber in history, I believe, as ever tried to justify his robbery as an act of patriotism and/or holy war; none have ever tried to argue that there was nothing wrong with what they did, and it was wrong for the authorities to punish them.

John Kerry was here last week and went to Ramallah and spoke out against these acts of terrorism over the last two months and boy did he get from the Ancient Ones. …Last thought: While the release of Jonathan Pollard is good news, the terms of his release only pour salt into the wound of his abysmal abuse by the US government, and I say that as one who has never been a Pollard fan. I recently heard writer Edwin Black speak here in Jerusalem, he who became part of the Pollard story by doing a controversial interview with him and he confirmed what I had learned from others: Pollard was his own worst enemy in many ways, but that still does not excuse the excessive punishment nor the terms of release in which he is being treated as if he still were in prison.

After all, the killers are known to, in their striving to reach Muslim paradise — via homicide and suicide — shout out as they strike, “Allahu Akbar!” And since they commonly deny even the existence of “Israelis,” their targets are, in their own eyes, less “Israelis” than the same evil Jews written about in their Koran.

Moreover, since there is nothing “Palestinian” about these knife-wielding maniacs — neither their mother tongue nor religion is indigenous to Palestine — “assassins” (derived from the Arabic) might also be a more accurate description than the clichéd “Palestinian terrorists.”

…Could there be two neighboring peoples on earth so unlike one another as Jews and Arabs, descended from half-brothers, Isaac and Ishmael, same father different mother?

…What I have found annoying/amusing are the MSM pundits who continue to criticize Obama for his failed policies that have led to this Russian presence. How long must it take for some people to realize that Obama’s policies only appear to be failures? On the contrary, he may be the most successful president in American history for seeing his ideology implemented. Hood was workplace violence, and he refused to attend the Charlie Hebdo demonstration and called the dead Jews at the Hyper Cacher just “some folks;” and when the mass head chopping began last winter, he saw fit to defend Islam by reminding Americans that Christians had behaved badly during the Crusades. He was clearly defending Islam to Americans instead defending Americans from Islam.

Obama has reopened friendly relations with Cuba still under the despotic rile of the Castro brothers notorious for their torture of dissidents. Obamacare is very much an imitation of Cuban communism that provides free medical care that the Castros introduced as proof of what saintly fellows they were. And as Islam is beyond reproach, so Russia has special place in Obama’s heart and he believes a Middle East dominated by Russia is a better one than a Middle East dominated the US. This is the president who exposed himself by saying, “Whether we like it or not, the US is a superpower,” or words to that effect…

…Today it was reported that the Prime Minister has repeatedly tried to get King Abdallah II on the phone to ask him to cool it with the allegations of aggression on the Temple Mount which as an intelligent, Western-educated fellow he surely knows are lies.

But the king has refused to talk to him, which should not surprise nor overly concern us. Of could he won’t talk to Bibi. And neither would any of us in his position, with his biography. With all my heart, I am a man of peace.” He said he had been afraid at the moment that men in ski masks would show up and give us trouble, when the boys were inside. “But I knew I would defend them even if it risked my life and the lives of my children.”

…The only one speaking truth in Europe is PM Victor Orban of Hungary who last week told all these refugees not to come to Europe but remain in Turkey. Orban even dared to say Hungary will give asylum and refuge to Christian refugees only. Israel Hayom reported today other East European countries are in agreement with that but in the West, of course, movers and shakers were very angry. The foreign minister of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn said Orban should be ashamed of himself.

But what yours truly found revealing, apart from the particulars of this particular op-ed and Torossian’s response, was greater insight into the minds of these anti-Israel Jews and just how ignorant they are of Israel and the region we live in.

First off, she quoted Jeffrey Goldberg’s description of Torossian as the “lunatic fringe,” when I say it is Goldberg who represents the lunatic fringe for flacking for the obvious antisemite in the White House who wants to destroy Israel.

This Naomi Paiss also attacked Pamela Geller as an Islamophobe. And as soon as yours truly hears anyone use that term seriously, I know I am listening to not only an idiot but an ignoramus who has no knowledge of the origin of that very recently invented neologism, Islamophobia. It was invented because the Muslims are chronically envious of Jews even of antisemitism for the moral power it gave Jews to blackmail the world in allowing them to steal Palestine.

So they came up with this word to match antisemitism. As people hate the Jews, so they hate Muslims, they say. People have an irrational hatred of Muslims, and Pamela Geller is one of them. She has no rational basis for fearing Muslims. No one does.

And I say civilized people who do not fear Islam are the irrational ones…

The Jewish reggae musician Matisyahu was ordered by the organizers of a music festival outside of Valencia, Spain to make a statement of his support for a Balestinian state, and when he refused, they canceled his performance. The local BDS outfit claims he supports “an apartheid state which practices ethnic cleansing.”

I spent the better of a summer in the early 1960s in Valencia so I am not too surprised. Spain like Ireland like Poland has a heavy-duty history of Roman Catholicism and its inveterate Jew-hatred. In all likelihood the local BDS people are not at all religious but fashionably hard left, anti-religious. Still, this has the flavor and the passion and style of their Catholic forebears. How dare they interrogate this musician about his political views, which is what is being asked for here? This demand has the aroma of centuries of Inquisition in which Jews were interrogated over their religious beliefs.

This is a hallmark of a totalitarian mindset…

It is right there in his inaugural address if you read between the lines. The next day after he entered the Oval Office for the first time his first phone call was Mahmoud Abbas, the Arab assassin.

And his first appointment was George Mitchell as special envoy tasked with solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as it is dishonestly misnamed. It is the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

And now Obama has devised a plan to wire transfer an ungodly sum of dollars to the wicked mullahs in Teheran and see to it they have atomic bombs in a few years, if not right away…
