For them, what is most important, just as Livni says, is “getting international legitimacy for our actions.” In other words, winning the approval of the goyim, especially in the West. We must be sprinkled with the holy water of their notion of legitimacy. Not our notion; not HaShem’s notion. For Livni and her ilk, legitimacy is rooted in what the goyim think of us.
